Another famous Undertaker match came in October of 2002 when he took on WWE's newest rising superstar and WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar, inside the structure the Deadman made famous. This would not be the last time these two monsters met inside it, but the first was quite the physical encounter.

The match is also famous for the double color - in other words, both combatants were busted open. Blood flowed profusely off the face of The Undertaker, a sight not seen often throughout WWE history.

The Undertaker entered the match with his right arm in a cast, a weakness exploited when Lesnar eventually removed it. Lesnar and Undertaker battled all over the ringside area, outside the ring, even outside the cage, before returning to the ring. The match featured intense physicality with Lesnar ultimately scoring the victory to retain his WWE Championship after an F5. This was one of the first "clean" pinfall defeats The Undertaker ever suffered in his career: "clean" in that the match had no rules.

The two would duel again inside the cell over a decade later but this first brutal match was one fans would remember for a long, long time.
