10 Greatest WWE Raw Endings Ever
8. The Nexus Invasion (7 June 2010)
In terms of sheer weirdness, the ending of the 7 June 2010 episode of Raw probably deserves to be number one on this list. We had never seen anything quite like this before, and it's probably safe to assume we never will again either.
In case you need a refresher: John Cena and CM Punk were innocently sharing a WWE Title match in the night's main event when the NXT season one rookies, led by Wade Barrett, came out to circle the ring.
Attacking the two headline stars would have been enough of a debut on its own, but the apprentices didn't stop there. They also ripped the mat off the canvas, exposing its wooden floor, and turned over the padding at ringside. Cena was spat in the face; Justin Roberts nearly strangled to death.
It seems crazy to think, now that nearly all of the original Nexus cast (the one exception being Daniel Bryan) have failed to live up to the hype, but - at the time - this was a hugely exciting segment. There was no way you could finish watching it and not want to tune in the following week.
