10 Greatest WWE Royal Rumble Posters
5. 1998
Only one man was ever going to win the 1998 Royal Rumble, so it was unsurprising to see the poster focused around the iconic chrome dome of 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.
On an unprecedented wave of momentum that would push the entire organisation back to the summit of the industry, Austin's arc was refined slightly in late-1997, as he moved from only feuding with wrestlers to also fighting any forms of authority that got in the way of his rise to the top.
In doing so, he raised the ire of Vince McMahon, now outed as company owner and incredibly unpopular thanks to his treatment of Bret Hart at November's Survivor Series.
With the roster out to get him and management keen to see him lose, 'Stone Cold' was the proverbial marked man in a genuine version of Roman Reigns' 'One vs All' predicament from 2016, and this poster promised viewers the next step of his indestructible march to the WWE World Title.
