10 Greatest WWE Stables Of The Past 10 Years
1. The Shield
An obvious choice, but an easy one: The Shield are unquestionably the greatest WWE stable of the past decade, and it's not even close.
Their introduction as CM Punk's hired mercenaries immediately presented them as a major threat, and their first match (vs. Team Hell No and Ryback at TLC 2012) was a genuine classic. They'd produce plenty of other great bouts against a diverse range of opponents throughout their lifespan, and rewards were easy to come by, with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins becoming Tag Team Champions, and Dean Ambrose holding the United States Title.
Their dynamic was perfect. Ambrose was the uncaged brawler, Rollins the reckless high-flier, and Reigns the quiet powerhouse. This balance ensured outstanding chemistry, and The Shield established themselves as one of the company's most popular acts through brutal, guerrilla-style assault tactics that left much of the roster in ruins.
Rollins' cataclysmic betrayal brought their run to an end during their rebellion against The Authority in 2014, the aftermath of which turned all three into genuine main eventers. Each Shield member has held the WWE Championship since the group's dissolution, and with Rollins and Ambrose now realigned as Raw Tag Team Champions, there's a chance we could see a full-on reunion in the near future.
