When it comes to The Hulkster's greatest feuds, Andre the Giant and Macho Man Randy Savage may come to mind, but his avenging the betrayal of "Mr. Wonderful" in the summer if 1986 is at that level. Per the story, Orndorff was miffed that friend Hogan had simply missed a phone call from him, and his envy of the champion's lofty status wound him up.

Friction was teased for weeks until the duo defeated King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd by disqualification. Afterward, Orndorff feigned support for an ailing Hogan before clotheslining him, and following up with his lethal piledriver.

Hogan-Orndorff title matches sold out houses nationwide, and pulled in 70,000+ to Toronto's Exhibition Stadium that August for a card known as The Big Event, with Hogan retaining the gold via disqualification.
