10 Greatest WWE Super Heavyweight Wrestlers

8. Mark Henry

Mark Henry Big Show
WWE

With an Olympic background and weightlifting records set in the ‘90s that stand to this day, there are few WWE performers with a better legitimate athletic record than Mark Henry. A wrestling fan with no shortage of power, he was a no brainer for Vince McMahon, who signed him to a 10 year contract at age 24.

Henry floundered for a while, and was given a cheap gimmick as a sexual deviant (which, credit to him, he played with aplomb). Then, in 2011, it all clicked. His Hall of Pain gimmick was a breath of fresh air, booking so simple it’s amazing they didn’t think of it sooner: simply bill the big strong man as a… big strong man.

He crushed everyone before him with new, frightening aggression, and even captured the big gold belt. Better still was his fake retirement: a convincing goodbye on Raw suddenly turned into a sneak attack on John Cena, slamming the unprepared champ in the middle of the ring to a rapturous reception.

When he was used right, Henry displayed a uniquely intense charisma, his real life feats making him all the more convincing as a powerhouse wrestler.
