10 Greatest WWE Super Heavyweight Wrestlers

4. Bam Bam Bigelow

A hulking bruiser with incredible athleticism and an instantly iconic look, Bam Bam Bigelow had it all. One of the few individuals able to pull off clothes with flame patterns, terrifyingly quick and brimming with charisma, Bigelow was lauded by the likes of Bret Hart as the most physically gifted super heavyweight of his era.

Everyone wanted a piece of Bam Bam, and he hit the heights in WWE, WCW, and the early days of ECW, where he won the top belt. He was a sensation in Japan too, where, like elsewhere, the amazing spectacle of a man with that look, that size, and that pace meant for wrestling gold.

While it’s far from his best match, his most impressive feat might be his headline bout at WrestleMania XI. Here Bigelow guided NFL linebacker Lawrence Taylor through a serviceable main event, making the show’s star attraction look like the real deal even as the footballer flagged.

It speaks volumes of the trust the company put in Bigelow that they’d put this match in his hands, and even more to Bam Bam’s quality as an athlete.
