Roman Reigns may be a WWE pet project fans can see right through today, but there was a time when he was the super-cool muscle of The Shield. Alongside the unhinged Dean Ambrose and clearly-talented Seth Rollins, Reigns formed part of the greatest faction to hit the scene in years when he crash-landed on programming at the 2012 Survivor Series.

There's a reason crowds have been buzzing ever since Ambrose and Rollins hinted at getting the band back together. From 2012-2014, The Shield stood tall as the group in WWE and delighted fans with a dangerous aura which stood out and felt different to the saccharine product that surrounded these 'Hounds Of Justice'.

At one point, Ambrose held the US Title and the team of Rollins and Reigns were Tag-Team Champions. During their prime, The Shield were rarely (if ever) on screen as individuals either, and that presentation furthered the idea that they were WWE's strongest collective.
