10 Greatest WWE World Title Storylines In WrestleMania History

7. Hulk Hogan And Ultimate Warrior Cut Insane Dueling Promos (1990)

Not so much a 'storyline' as an intriguing match-up, fueled by each participant's ability to speak extemporaneously about cosmic forces, plane crashes, giving up one's soul, and who really knows what else. If you play any stand-up promo that Hogan or Warrior produced in the spring of 1990 backwards, you'll likely find the hidden messages that drove Charles Manson nuts. Actually, just playing them forward would do the same thing. The title-for-title match (Hogan's World vs. Warrior's Intercontinental) was billed as "The Ultimate Challenge", and was presented as a test of mettle for two infallible superheroes, neither man projectable as the clear winner. They crossed paths few times between their initial Royal Rumble confrontation and the WrestleMania VI epic, instead selling the battle with memorable promos, none more resonant than Warrior telling Hogan to commandeer his own airplane and crash-land it into Parts Unknown.
