3. Randy Savage Turns On Hulk Hogan (1989)

Hulk Hogan's galling acting job aside, he and ally Macho Man Randy Savage were brilliantly pitted in a bridgeless divide on the February 3, 1989 edition of The Main Event. For months, champion Savage displayed his own subtle acting skills by wincing and raising his brow whenever Hogan got too close to Miss Elizabeth for his comfort. This was hardly addressed on the nose, and only sharp-eyed viewers would have picked up on Savage's discomfort. After Savage was thrown from the ring by The Twin Towers and took a header onto Elizabeth, a panicked Hogan carried Liz to the first aid room while a weary Savage connected his own dots. Hogan returned to the ring, where an enraged Savage struck him to sever the bond. Hogan confronted him over a pained Liz in medical quarters, to which Savage let out all of his paranoia and anger in a speedy, hate-filled rant. Hulk tried to quell the situation, but was then blasted with the title belt by Savage, who set the stage for WrestleMania V with the assault.
