10 Gruesome WWE Injuries That Made Us Sick

5. Cesaro's Impacted Teeth (WWE No Mercy 2017)

WWE fumbled Cesaro too many times. His run, amidst the mini-bangers with John Cena and Seth Rollins, was rife with shoddy storyline after shoddy storyline, Cesaro being thrown around different managers and tag team partners like an unwanted puppy. With Sheamus, though, Cesaro found something that worked out long-term. They were a shot of adrenaline in a lamentable WWE tag team division whose title matches were regularly show-stealers.

One such example was when they collided with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins at the 2017 No Mercy. The match was moving at a good pace with both sides displaying solid work, but an errant slingshot from Dean Ambrose left Cesaro's two front teeth driven into his top gum. Any other goober would've stopped the match immediately - hell, Sin Cara stopped a match when he broke a finger - but not Cesaro.

Bloodied and battered, Cesaro not only finished the match, but he delivered a career-best superhuman performance that turned an otherwise middling WWE Tag Team Championships match into a renowned pay-per-view spectacle. Various images from the match of Cesaro fighting with a blood-soaked mouth, particularly one of him wrenching back on a Crossface, perfectly illustrate the real, legitimate pain Cesaro was in.

'The Swiss Cyborg' indeed.
