New Japan’s Never Openweight Champion is a two-time Intercontinental Champion, a former Junior and Heavyweight Tag Team Champion and a three-time winner of the New Japan Cup. Yet, when it’s come to winning the big one, Hirooki Goto has never got it done - although it’s certainly not from a lack of trying.

For as big a cliché as it sounds, when you watch Goto the one word that comes to mind is warrior. From his walk to the ring, to the way that he conducts himself in it, you instantly know that this is a man who can hurt you. He is willing to put it all on the line, and his hard-hitting style goes along with that.

It’s impossible to say whether Goto will ever win the big one, or if he's destined to go down in the list of legends like Roddy Piper as superstars who never got a run with a World Title. Whatever happens, you can bet that before he calls it a day, a lot more people will wake up sore after having tried to fight him.
