10 Harsh Truths Vince McMahon Needs To Understand About WWE Network

1. Fans Want More Live And Exclusive Content

Raw Pre Show In terms of new in-ring content on WWE Network, there isn't that much. Shows like Main Event and NXT are exclusive to it as well as pre & post shows for Raw & Smackdown, but that's about it. While Main Event does feature some great matches from time to time, it's not considered to be a "must see" show like Raw or even Smackdown is. NXT is also an entertaining program to watch for those us interested in seeing the future of WWE, they barely promote it on Raw. The average viewer isn't going to watch NXT that much. How many people are really watch pre & post editions of Raw and Smackdown? Raw's a three hour show that is tough to get through most weeks. Adding in another hour of Raw related stuff that is basically just promos is asking too much out of the audience. The biggest draw for the live content on the Network is the PPVs. That's something WWE pushed hard prior to WrestleMania because it is a good deal to pay only $10 per month for PPVs (plus everything else on the Network), but clearly the fans want more. Plus, there are still other ways to watch PPVs without paying for them. It's not like illegal streaming is ever going to go away. What WWE needs to do is create more specials. Maybe come up with something like the old WCW Clash of Champions specials on a Thursday night or do a King of the Ring tournament exclusive to WWE Network. They need to do a better job providing more exclusive and live content on WWE Network because that's what fans are used to. It's what is going to lead to people signing up that are hesitant to do so now. Fans want more. Give them more.
