10 Harsh Truths Vince McMahon Needs To Understand About WWE Network

9. Firing VP Of Programming In May Is A Bad Sign

When WWE fired the Executive VP of Programming Matt Singerman in early May it probably didn't resonate with wrestling fans, but it is a big deal. He was in charge of programming the Network. He oversaw everything from many months ago when it was just a concept and he was still in charge up until he was fired. If you're firing the VP of Programming when the Network is just three months old what are you telling the consumer? It tells us that what you've been doing has been wrong from the beginning and it also makes him the scapegoat. Now WWE can say "it's not us, it was him" and pass the blame as a way to tell the stockholders that everything is going to be okay now that he's gone. Firing the guy that was in charge of something that launched just three months ago shows that WWE is on edge right now. Hopefully it was the right move to fire him because if not then they are just digging a deeper hole for themselves.
