10 Heel And Face Turns That Were Miserable Failures

1. Goldberg Turns Heel (2000)

If a company's business starts tanking to the point that you're losing tens of millions of dollars and shedding viewers in droves, it's probably not a great idea to take that one thing that keeps people hanging on and snatch it away from us. It'd be like McDonald's decided to replace the Big Mac with celery sticks. That's exactly what WCW did in the summer of 2000 when they decided to take one of their few remaining valuable commodities and turn him heel. Goldberg had been absent from the promotion for a few months and Eric Bischoff was teasing a "big surprise" for the main event of The Great American Bash, which featured Kevin Nash against Jeff Jarrett. The show has been called one of the worst ever, and if you've had the misfortune of seeing it you understand why. In addition to Goldberg's interference, the match also saw the involvement of Ernest Miller, Rey Mysterio, Konnan, Disco Inferno, Juventud Guerrera, Rick Steiner, Scott Steiner and Tank Abbott. WTF?!? Goldberg was one of the few draws WCW had left and they killed him off on this show, aligning him with Vince Russo and Eric Bischoff and contributing to the boot party being held on the corpse of a once proud and successful company. Any other heel or face turns you can think of that were absolute flops? Name them in the comments below!
