Wrestling fans are (or really should be) familiar with classic WCW pay-per-view matches like Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat, Tully Blanchard vs. Magnum T.A., Diamond Dallas Page vs. Randy Savage and the finale of Booker T and Chris Benoit’s Best-of-7 series.

But with the company putting on pay-per-views from 1984 to 2001, it's understandable that quite a few great matches may have been looked over.

That's due in part to guys like Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper and Kevin Nash being ever-present for all the big matches and angles. Unfortunately, they simply couldn’t keep up with the younger, far more athletic wrestlers who populated the roster back in those days.

WCW did have an incredible roster in the mid-to late 90s, but most of the matches with the Cruiserweights and talented mid-carders were tossed together at the last minute to fill time. And yet, it was those men that were often stealing the show, even though by now some of those matches may be forgotten.

Let's try to fix that a bit and uncover 10 hidden gems from WCW pay-per-views.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
