4. 2 Cold Scorpio Vs. Chris Benoit - Superbrawl 1993

2 Cold Scorpio was an athlete whose skills at their height have been forgotten by wrestling nostalgia, but before being neutered by the WWE's dumb Flash Funk gimmick he was one of the best high-flyers in WCW. Superbrawl 1993 saw Scorpio face newcomer Chris Benoit in a clash of styles, backflipping daredevil versus intense ground technician, and it was like a Haynes Manual illustration of what a good match looks like.

The slickness of both men's moves made the match an athletic exhibition, especially as Scorpio started breaking out the jumpy flippy business. Even the brawl-loving North Carolina audience reacted well to the skill on display. Technical sequences, crowd-pleasing acrobatics and Jesse Ventura on commentary make this match one of the best offered up by a pre-Monday Night Wars WCW.
