10 Hidden Times WWE Stars Broke Character

1. Tie Game

The "Hell Froze Over" shirt WWE raced to market following CM Punk's November 2023 return was borne not just out of the situation itself but from a tweet posted by Triple H of the two men together seconds after Punk left the Chicago stage.

One of the many authority figures Punk loathed off screen as much as on, 'The Game' was high on The Punker's hit list, and as yet another flailing 'Summer Of Punk' verbal exchange on the August 1st 2011 Raw escalated, the tension reached a boiling point.

Punk, in a needling and knowingly disrespectful move, flicked Triple H’s tie in the former World Champion's own face. It wasn't just a gesture that epitomised Punk's flagrant disregard for the prodigal son's authority. It meant more than that and both men knew it. Punk was pointedly writing Hunter off as an ex-wrestler, perhaps a little sooner than the future creative chief himself was willing to acquiesce to.

Hunter fumed as he left the ring, with the two still exchanging words right as Punk's music played to seemingly denote that he'd claimed the last one. He won the round but not this particular fight - 'The King Of Kings' Pedigreed and pinned 'The Voice Of The Voiceless' in a Night Of Champions 2011 match he only worked as a substitute for the injured Kevin Nash.
