WWE's Tribute to the Troops is a longstanding holiday tradition dating back to 2003 when the wrestlers traveled to Baghdad to pay respects to American servicemen stationed in the country.

In 2010, WWE decided not to hold the event in a foreign nation but instead traveled to Fort Hood in Texas for the largest crowd in the special's history. An estimated 50,000 fans watched John Cena, Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio defeat the team of The Miz, Wade Barrett and Alberto del Río in the main event.

Typical for the show, Tribute to the Troops did not feature any five-star classics or any major angles for WWE television. Instead, the show essentially served as a feel-good event for the members of the US military, something that Vince McMahon is known to take very seriously.

The rest of the card saw Mark Henry winning a 15-man battle royal, eliminating a parade of jobbers, and the Big Show and Kofi Kingston defeated Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger.

Tribute to the Troops 2010 certainly won't be remembered as one of the all-time great cards in WWE history and didn't set any gate records. However, it's attendance can't be disputed.
