For the most recent entry on this list, the WWE bought the Royal Rumble to San Antonio, Texas for the second time and drawing over 50,000 fans to the Alamodome.

The Royal Rumble event usually sells very well just based on the Rumble match itself but this edition had some added intrigue due to the inclusion of The Undertaker and Bill Goldberg. Surprisingly, Randy Orton claimed the victory to the general apathy of the massive crowd, but the undercard was fantastic.

Charlotte defeated Bayley in their usual good match and Kevin Owens retained his Raw world title over Roman Reigns during the height of KO's friendship with Chris Jericho.

Match of the night honors, however, went to John Cena and AJ Styles as they put on one of the best bouts of the year. Styles brought some amazing offense with him while Cena busted out a top-rope Attitude Adjustment for a great near fall. In the end, Cena pinned Styles to claim his 16th world title and give us one of the better matches in recent history.
