Arn Anderson delivered his famous glock promo on Cody Rhodes.
Adam Cole vs. Jungle Boy, only the former's second singles bout in the promotion, was a hot, scintillating contest deserving of every plaudit it received.
Not one of the above facts, nor anything else that occurred on this broadcast, mattered more than the episode-long Dark Order arc, reuniting the group as AEW descended upon Rochester, New York; the hometown of the late Brodie Lee.
Getting this right was crucial for the Tony Khan-helmed organisation. They, among a pool of others, had largely gotten the treatment of Brodie on-point following his tragic passing in December 2020. For the company's Rochester debut, though, there were several avenues they could have gone down, so many possibilities that, ultimately, keeping it simple proved the best option. There was no Adam Page comeback. No Bray Wyatt debut. Just a couple of matches designed to get the Dark Order contingent refocused on their end goal.
They kept the memory of the Exalted One alive and well.
