10 Highest-Rated WWE Raw Segments Ever

3. The Stooges vs. The Mean Street Posse (10 May 1999) - 8.61

Pat Patterson Gerald Brisco

Oh dear.

This is not a cruel joke designed to ridicule pro wrestling or anyone who likes to think that the Attitude Era was the best time to be a fan. The numbers don't lie though, and it's (bizarrely) true that a match between The Stooges and The Mean Street Posse resulted in one of Raw's highest-rated quarter hours ever.

On the exact same show, Debra faced Sable in a Women's Title "Bra & Panties" match. That wouldn't get the biggest rating of the night.

No, it was Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco coming out to Hulk Hogan's old theme music to wrestle a bunch of jobbers that pulled in the fans. Read that again, then wonder why people are so hard on WWE today when they rarely present anything close to this nonsense.

Hopefully, people who were channel flipping had tuned in to see the post-match beat down on The Ministry following Bradshaw vs. Faarooq, not this two-minute disaster. Somehow, the Observer were able to report without any shred of humour that The Stooges vs. The Posse was a ratings draw in the 17 May 1999 issue.
