There can't be too many wrestling fans who remember seeing Triple H team with Trish Stratus to take on The Rock and Lita in the Summer of 2000. Most will recall that backstage moment between Trips and Trish (during which it looked like "The Game" was cheating on Stephanie) instead, but the actual match isn't well-remembered.

Back when the 31 July episode of Raw aired however, fans at the time were super-into it. That was reflected in the 8.46 segment rating the match was responsible for in the headline slot. Like it or not, the on/off sexual tension between Triple H and Stratus was a big selling point here.

In the 7 August 2000 issue, the Observer admitted that the match was helped by an over-run. Still, there was something unique about seeing female performers mixed in with the main event males that late in the program.

At the time, the Observer called this the "fifth most-watched wrestling match in the history of cable television".
