Long before Virgil became the IWC's favourite surrealist Olive Garden denizen, he was enjoying a creatively successful 1991, standing up to former abusive boss Dibiase, and coming under the tutelage of Roddy Piper, who trained him Rocky-style for showdowns with The Million Dollar Man.

At SummerSlam in Madison Square Garden, Dibiase would be putting his Million Dollar belt on the line.

The final minutes of the match need to be seen if you've never bore witness. Piper, at the announce desk, has to watch Dibiase torment a weary Virgil, only to get too cocky and cost himself the match.

Piper's acting job, and the crowd reaction to the finish, are beyond anything wrestling fans today are used to seeing.
