10 Hilarious Times Wrestling Didn't Take Itself Too Seriously

4. Takeroonie

Undertaker Spinaroonie
WWE

This post-Raw segment was just for the fans, but when video surfaced, it became one of the most beloved examples of the boys cutting loose. After a match featuring Goldust and Undertaker, Booker T encouraged the Deadman to attempt his signature spinaroonie.

Unsurprisingly, ‘Taker wasn’t up for this, in spite of much urging from the fans. Things got more ridiculous when The Rock came to the ring to pile on the pressure, followed by Triple H (whose comic timing is underrated). The nonsense peaked when Vince McMahon himself strode to the ring, ostensibly to restore some normality - only to add his voice to those who thought The Undertaker ought to take up breakdancing.

It’s superb silly fun at the expense of ‘Taker, who is the only one not in on the rib and doesn’t know quite what to do with himself. Vince ends up attempting a spinaroonie (it doesn’t go too well), and eventually it ends with the faces cleaning house.

Wrestling ribs can get pretty sinister, but here’s an example of the boys just having a laugh at the expense of an industry legend. It’s as charming as the business gets.
