10 Hilarious Times Wrestling Didn't Take Itself Too Seriously

5. Le Dinner Debonair

Undertaker Spinaroonie
AEW

Those of you with an old school mindset, or whose name is Jim Cornette, look away now, because Le Dinner Debonair has proved to be one of the most divisive segments in pro wrestling’s recent history. Those who want their sports entertainment heavy on the sports have railed against Jericho and MJF’s song and dance number, with many claiming they’ll never watch AEW again.

Those of us who like a laugh, though, appreciated the ludicrous moment for precisely what it was: two of the company’s top performers, both with absolute commitment to the bit and a commendable grasp of their characters, putting on a show at a time when we could all do with a bit of cheering up.

Le Dinner was daft, but it had a point to it, and was grounded in the established personalities of the stars, two uber heels recognising that, by their very nature, they’d be unable to keep away from one another.

It was funny, brilliantly performed (MJF has serious pipes!), and didn’t outstay its welcome. The humour may not be to your taste, but if you feel that AEW have destroyed wrestling with this segment, you simply must lighten up.
