10 Hilarious Times WWE Stars Parodied Other Wrestlers
8. The Miz Impersonating The Rock
Early 2011 was a strange time for the WWE. The Summer of Punk had not yet arrived, and the biggest feud going into Wrestlemania was between John Cena and The Rock...even though The Rock wasn't competing, and Cena was supposed to be headlining the whole event against WWE Champion The Miz. It was weird booking, and the whole event was surrounded by the idea that Wrestlemania host The Rock would be getting involved with the main event scene somehow. Even though some people can't stand The Miz, it was supposed to be his time in the spotlight and an argument can be made to say that he should've had his moment. So how do you combat being overshadowed by the face of the company and a Hollywood megastar? Dress up as one and attack the other, of course. On March 14th, The Miz used The Rock's absence that week (a recurring theme) to elevate himself back into relevance; first mocking the Brahma Bull, before then decimating Cena, including giving him a Rock Bottom in the middle of the ring. He then laid waste to his Wrestlemania challenger by slamming him down on the entrance ramp with a Skull-Crushing Finale, leaving Cena completely motionless in the process. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2xP-FtL9DQ It was a rare sign of dominance from a forgettable title reign, and it was all down to The Miz's comic portrayal of The Great One; the eyebrow, the stance, the merchandise, and the iconic finishing move. Even today, The Miz's gimmick is reminiscent of the arrogant Hollywood Rock from 2003, although it's not as noticeable this time!
