10 Hilariously Awful Career-Killing WWE Gimmicks From The 2000s

5. Naked Mideon

There was a lot of nudity on WWE TV during the Attitude Era. Most of it came courtesy of the gaggle of silicone-enhanced divas that crowded the roster but that's not to say that the male stars were shy about exposing some skin too (even more than usual). Vince McMahon, the chairman of the company, had a fondness for exposing his backside and asking fellow wrestlers to kiss it, to name just one example. It shouldn't be surprising to hear that the Naked Mideon was his idea. Dennis Knight was a ten year veteran by 2000 and had found some success in the 90's as a member of The Godwins tag team and as a member of real-life friend The Undertaker's Ministry Of Darkness stable. Mideon looked out of his depth next to new Millennium midcarders like Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle and it was decided that he needed a gimmick to stand out. The gimmick was Naked Mideon, which basically meant that he would strip to nothing but a fanny pack during matches with opponents. It was not very good. The gimmick came about after Knight stepped out into the hallway of a hotel wearing the fanny pack and asking the rest of the wrestlers 'Where did you say the meet and greet was?'. He was just trying to get a laugh from the boys but Vince had other ideas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOLUT5MZR0k Naked Mideon did not launch Knight to previously unseen heights and he was released on good terms in January 2001 as fans breathed a heavy sigh of relief.
