10 Hilariously Awful Career-Killing WWE Gimmicks From The 2000s
3. Great Khali - Punjabi Playboy
Few could believe it when Dalip Singh cleanly pinned The Undertaker in decisive fashion at Judgement Day 2006. Khali destroyed 'Taker and pinned him with one foot on his chest. It was a hell of a start for a man with less than a thimbleful of actual athletic ability. Yes, Khali was a crap wrestler but WWE did their best to hide his weaknesses and he was actually presented as a threat for his first couple of years in the company. He had top matches on pay-per-view with the likes of Batista, Triple H and John Cena and eventually won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the July 20th 2007 edition of Smackdown. Fans were actually starting to buy into Khali, despite his lumbering in the ring. He hovered around the main event scene for the next year until WWE decided to end the Khali experiment by turning him into the Punjabi Playboy, a fun-loving ladies man. And like that, Khali's chances of regaining the World Title were gone (which is a good thing when you think about it).
