One of the biggest questions going into 2008's Night of Champions pay-per-view was who would team with Ted DiBiase to take on Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly for the World Tag Team Championship. Tension had been teased between the tag champs for weeks, so Rhodes turning on Holly at the start of the bout to join forces with DiBiase didn't come as much of a surprise.

In doing so, DiBiase became the first and only man in WWE history to capture the twin titles in his debut match for WWE. More importantly, however, Rhodes' heel turn at the event led to bigger and better things for the second-generation star down the line.

As a babyface, Rhodes wasn't looked at as anything more than the son of the legendary Dusty Rhodes. As a heel, he didn't live in his father's large shadow. He began to leave a legacy of his own by winning the tag titles several times as well as the Intercontinental Championship on two occasions.

Rhodes has always worked better as a villain more so than as a beloved hero. Who would have ever thought that before Night of Champions?
