10 Horrible Gimmicks That Wrestlers Pitched THEMSELVES

6. Jeff Hardy Is Willow The Wisp

This writer is prone to randomly reminiscing about the good things TNA has accomplished over the years. If you want one seriously epic blend of excellent in-ring action and some of the worst creative ever, then fire up anything from 2002-2009. Y'know, pre-Hulk Hogan convincing Dixie Carter that he was the answer.

By 2014, TNA was a struggle. That was evidenced on screen by awful ideas like allowing Jeff Hardy to dress up as something from Pan's Labyrinth and become 'Willow The Wisp'. Jeff had come up with that character as a teenager, and it should've stayed put in his youth as something he'd occasionally mention during interviews.

Willow wasn't what wrestling fans wanted to see from the daredevil this deep into his career. The fact ol' Wispy popped up several times after 2014 (and almost made it onto AEW programming) suggests Hardy holds it close to his heart. Unfortunately for the high-flyer, it has never actually clicked with people.

Hit the bricks, Willow!
