10 Horrifying Wrestling Injuries Captured On Camera

3. Sid's Leg

*The injury in full*

A snap so gruesome WCW elected to ghoulishly replay it as a ratings grab, Sid's frightening fracture was again allegedly at the behest of the venomous John Laurinaitis. Years before the man would keep an upper level WWE job through both manipulation and marriage, the future 'Vice President Of Talent Relations' was insisting that one of the least coordinated big men in industry history should sharpen up his aerial game.

It was thick beyond reproach. Sid was limited, but limited his arsenal based on his white hot charisma and incredible look. His punches were amongst the worst in the game, but a man of his size could believably be throwing bombs as long as his foes sold them as explosions.

In all-too-typical fashion for WCW, the spot was missed on the live broadcast. The January 2001 Sin pay-per-view main event saw Sid, Scott Steiner and Jeff Jarrett battle out whilst Ric Flair promised a fourth mystery man. As cameras cut to 'The Nature Boy' ushering in the surprise (Road Warrior Animal), Sid flew. Cameras returned to the ring to find him lay prone, wide-eyed at the sight of his flailing foot.

'Big Johnny' had a lot in common with the spot itself. They were both dangerously stupid.
