3. Cedric Alexander
Cedric Alexander was, up until recently, one of the top young stars in Ring of Honor. For years, he competed as a babyface, but a 2015 heel turn led to a heightened profile, and he soon become the first man to defeat Moose. Since then, Alexander has continued to impress, wrestling bouts against the likes of ACH, Matt Sydal, and Tomohiro Ishii.
Just last month, though, Alexander surprised fans by announcing that he would be leaving Ring of Honor. He finished up after the ROH/New Japan War of the Worlds joint tour, wrestling his final match against Donovan Dijak in New York City. After that, he received an ovation from the crowd.
Alexander has already made his first post-ROH steps. This past weekend, he made his return to EVOLVE wrestling, taking on Matt Riddle and FIP Heavyweight Champion Fred Yehi during the double-shot. On Monday, long-running rumors were confirmed when Alexander was announced as one of the 32 competitors in WWE's upcoming Cruiserweight Classic tournament.
What's next for Alexander? His participation in the tournament and his work for EVOLVE suggests that he may end up in WWE, and he would be a major acquisition for the organization. Even if he doesn't, though, promotions around the world will likely be making him no shortage of offers.
