4. Marty Scurll
The United Kingdom's native wrestling scene has garnered more and more worldwide acclaim and recognition over the past year, and a good deal of that is due to the feud between "The Villain" Marty Scurll and "The Aerial Assassin" Will Ospreay. Ospreay's dazzling high-risk offense has wowed fans all over the world, and he's been rewarded for it - in May, he was signed to a two-year contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Scurll remains as-yet-unsigned by a major promotion, but he's no less a catch than Ospreay was. Scurll's in-ring style may not be as immediately dazzling as Ospreay's, but he's a fantastic all-rounder with tons of charisma. His matches are routinely great, and at only 27 years of age, he's got no shortage of time ahead of him.
Scurll's size may be a knock against him - he's on the smaller side, but he doesn't wrestle an aerial-based style, a la someone like Neville or Kalisto. That means that he would stand out in WWE, or even in New Japan's Junior Heavyweight Division. Still, that's something fans would have once said about Daniel Bryan, and the business continues to evolve, even at the highest levels.
Apart from a brief run with TNA, Scurll has stayed in lesser-known leagues, but given his talent, that can't last long. For now, though, he's PROGRESS Wrestling Champion, and he'll be challenging Timothy Thatcher for the EVOLVE TItle in July.
