8. Orange Cassidy

Orange Cassidy is the kind of wrestler who gives guys like Rip Rogers and Jim Cornette nightmares. A heavily gimmicked comedy act, 'Freshly Squeezed' effectively wrestles in slow motion. He works like he knows he's awesome but isn't actually trying to compete: the antithesis of what traditionalists expect from the sport, but highly entertaining for anyone open-minded enough to appreciate what he's doing.

This dozy, dopy entertainer works a shtick-heavy style. Cassidy typically operates about quarter-speed, but spices it up with sporadic bursts of energy, letting the lethargic mask slip to reveal a solid high-flying game. He connects, too. The Mike Quackenbush-trained deserved reputation among the best comedy wrestlers in the world comes, primarily, from his ability to reduce a live crowd to tears, and while his act doesn't always translate on tape, the man is an absolute hoot in the flesh.

The past 12 months have seen Cassidy rise from relative obscurity to become a modern US indie staple, and he captured the IndepedentWrestling.tv Title from the ROH-bound Tracy Williams in December 2018. Expect his stock to soar higher as 2019 progresses.
