10 Huge AEW Double Or Nothing 2020 Predictions You Need To Know

9. Dustin Rhodes vs. Shawn Spears

Dustin Rhodes Shawn Spears
AEW

Shawn Spears is obsessed with Cody.

'The American Nightmare' has defeated him twice yet he remains in 'The Chairman's' crosshairs, with Spears cutting weekly promos on a target who hasn't acknowledged him since their last match. A curious move that paints the former Tye Dillinger as desperate, though targeting Dustin Rhodes in this week's segment at least made sense. He's trying to get at an Executive Vice President through his sibling.

Spears took aim at Dustin's struggles with addiction and said he was forcing AEW's hand by issuing the challenge, having found himself missing from the pay-per-view card prior to that. A last-minute piece of booking with no onscreen interactions, just like Private Party vs. Best Friends, making it hard to get too invested in what happens, though it least it makes storyline sense.

More than anything else, this feels like a functional bridge to get Spears closer to Cody. Perhaps he'll be his adversary's first feud if the Nightmare Family patriarch becomes TNT Champion?

Winner: Shawn Spears.
