10 Huge AEW Double Or Nothing 2020 Predictions You Need To Know

8. Britt Baker vs. Kris Statlander

Kris Statlander Britt Baker

NOTE: This entry is contingent on Britt Baker being fit to perform at Double Or Nothing, which, at the time of writing, is unclear. AEW is yet to issue an update on her status after suffering what looked like a painful knee injury on Dynamite.

A neat piece of booking on Dynamite's 13 May episode had AEW assembling both Double Or Nothing women's matches in a single finish. That night's four-way saw Hikaru Shida finish Penelope Ford in the ring, cementing her status at the top of the rankings and punching her ticket for a Women's Title shot. Britt Baker had Kris Statlander trapped in an unnecessarily long Lockjaw on the outside while this was going on, so there you go: two singles matches.

The follow-up was Statlander and Shida vs. Nyla Rose and Baker on 20 May, though that was more about highlighting the title programme than anything else.

Baker is one of the most effective heels in the company while Statlander is largely character-less (beyond her 'Galaxy's Greatest Alien' nickname). There are legitimate concerns surrounding both in the ring. Baker, for all her improvement, is still very green, while Statlander has a tendency to stretch too far outside her comfort zone and is prone to botching. The floor is low: let's hope they hold it together.

Winner: Britt Baker.
