10 HUGE AEW Double Or Nothing 2021 Predictions You Need To Know

9. Hangman Page vs. Brian Cage

AEW Double Or Nothing 2021 Hangman Page Brian Cage Taz

This is a busy main card with nine matches announced, so there's an argument to be made that Hangman Page vs. Brian Cage should probably go short. The stakes aren't as high here as they are elsewhere. On top of this, they're two action-first wrestlers capable of doing great things in a shorter bout. Get in, get your sh*t in, pop the crowd, get out.

Page and Cage's first match casts doubt on this. They've already done the shorter layout, with Cage effectively squashing Hangman on Dynamite. Page's character arc suggests he should win, overcoming his latest mental hurdle after a devastating collapse in the rankings, brought on by big beefy Brian. Would AEW be willing to do this in under 10 minutes considering his opponent's prior dominance?

Unlike the runtime, the outcome shouldn't be in doubt. AEW has already removed Page far enough from the spotlight to allow others to enter the World Title picture before he is ready to take Kenny Omega's throne. It's time for him to resume his climb, shaking the Machine-shaped monkey off his back, continuing his march to glory.

Winner: Hangman Page
