Brace yourselves for a disappointing Joker here.

If it's a letdown, it'll be our fault this time. AEW made their own bed with Revolution's "Hall of Fame worthy surprise", and we can debate the Christian Cage reveal ad nauseam, but the marketing hasn't been anywhere near as over this time. It hasn't conditioned you to expect Andrade or Daniel Bryan at Double or Nothing; the fans have done that themselves, because a wrestling promotion has a mystery spot lined up while these guys happen to be available.

Be kind to Paul Wight if that's who walks out as the Joker. Or John Silver, returning from injury. They don't deserve vitriol.

Cage is this year's most obvious winner. Nobody else here is a star on his level and his prior interactions with Kenny Omega teased a World Title match months ago. AEW doesn't typically plant those seeds without good reason, so as fun as an Omega vs. Jungle Boy or Penta El Zero Miedo title fight would be, it's... Christian, in the immortal words of Todd Grisham.

Winner: Christian Cage
