4. Raining Down On Marty

It was with an earnest acceptance that Marty Scurll assessed his chances against Kazuchika Okada on the go-home edition of Being The Elite.

'The Villain' has been taunted by 'The Rainmaker' over the past several weeks, with Okada glibly noting that the NJPW Junior Heavyweight has no chance against him at every opportunity. A suggestion that Scurll sod off to the talent wasteland 205 Live was his most caustic barb.

Scurll this week attempted to rally himself for the fight ahead, presumably because he almost certainly won't need to do the same for the Bullet Club-centric capacity crowd. The raucous Chicagoans will be ready to party for Marty, even if an Okada closer to his 'Rainmaker' vintage makes the trip across the Pacific.

The former IWGP Champion is a long way from being back to his best, but a strong G1 finished masked his indifferent start and the increasingly odd behaviour he was engaging in along the way. That Okada is there for the taking with Scurll effectively wrestling on home turf, but the UK star's umbrella may not be protection enough if NJPW's new Ace really makes it rain.
