10 Huge Mistakes TNA Copied From WCW

7. Letting A Wrestler Perform While Intoxicated

It was no secret that Scott Hall had a real-life battle with alcohol and other vices, so when WCW turned it into a storyline, it was one of the most tasteless things they ever did. Hall was a pro about the whole thing and went along with it, and we'll never know whether he actually performed on TV drunk or not, but they were putting an employee with demons into a really, really tough spot. In March 2011, Jeff Hardy was scheduled to compete with Sting for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at the Victory Road pay per-view but as soon as Hardy made his way to the ring, it was obvious something wasn't quite right. The Charismatic Enigma was stumbling, he looked like he didn't know where he was and the decision was made to call an audible and have Sting forcibly pin him in 90 seconds and end the match. Jeff was allowed to go out there in that condition when in any other company, they would've noticed it beforehand and dealt with it in a far better and more professional manner. Sadly, TNA let Hardy go out there and it was an embarrassment for him and the company. Of course, six months later TNA turned Hardy's drug-fuelled shambles of an appearance at Victory Road into a storyline where he had hit rock bottom and was looking for redemption. Because of course they did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiA65OUNpIM
