10 Huge Signings WWE Must Make In 2020

8. Brian Cage

IMPACT Wrestling

Brian Cage is a monster of a man with a body so endearing to Vince McMahon that it's genuinely astonishing such a jump hasn't been rumoured more heavily.

It's as if Gary Strydom learned how to work, to a very, very high level. Cage looks like such a quintessentially Vince guy that, surely, he would insert himself back at the commentary table just to put him over.

Cage is under contract with Impact Wrestling, but the length isn't clear. It isn't an exclusive deal - he supplements his income on the Indies - but Impact does have final say on where he can and cannot work. He expressed interest in working the Double Or Nothing Casino Battle Royal, before Impact blocked it, which might indicate his preferred, next destination - as does the recent activity on Kenny Omega's Instagram account - but again, he's very much the prototypical WWE "guy". He intersects Vince's inclinations and the tastes of his audience. With the exception of Braun Strowman, nobody but Cage meets that exacting remit. His recent performance in a soapy wedding storyline suggests he can slot perfectly into the sports entertainment realm, too.

If he's stood in gorilla, and the RAW script isn't finalised, Vince would put him over with an audible "Wow!"
