After never believing he would ever have a chance to return to WWE, Bruce Prichard started his Something to Wrestle podcast, where he discussed all the behind the scenes details that went into bringing classic WWE matches and moments to life. The podcast became hugely popular and surprisingly led to Bruce being brought back to WWE as a part time creative consultant, which then led him to coming back full time as Vince McMahon’s right-hand man, which then led to him becoming WWE's Senior Vice President.

With Bruce being so close to Vince it enabled him to put in a good word for his close friend Eric Bischoff to return to the company too as Executive Director of the SmackDown brand, with SmackDown being looked as a priority, with it moving to Fox on Friday Nights in a deal worth millions.

It was short-lived for Eric, only lasting a few months in the role after not acclimating himself to the WWE environment, but enjoying himself nevertheless.

Eric has revealed how Bruce was able to get him back into the WWE fold:

“Bruce Prichard and I have been friends really since my tenure at WWE as a talent, going back to 2002, and we remained very close friends during that period of time. And shortly after Bruce came back to WWE, we were chatting. He said, 'Hey, do you mind if I drop your name? Would you be interested in perhaps coming back to work for WWE?'. I said, 'Sure. Feel free'. And a couple months later, I was packing my bags and moving to Stamford."
