10 HUGE WWE Royal Rumble 2020 Predictions You Need To Know

1. The Big Surprise(s)

Paige Edge
WWE

Aside from Ronda Rousey returning to win the Women's iteration of the Royal Rumble, WWE could potentially load up both matches with some huge stars and major returns.

Alongside 'The Baddest Woman On The Planet', the company could well offer surprise spots to main roster returnees Nia Jax, Tamina, Naomi and Ruby Riott, or guest roles for Lita, Molly Holly, Michelle McCool or Alundra Blayze whilst also digging deep into NXT for the likes of Shayna Baszler, Io Shirai, Candice LeRae and Dakota Kai. And these are all without addressing the rampant speculation around Paige somehow being cleared for it - speculation she's seemingly relished getting the chance to stir on Twitter.

For the men, lots of coincidences and assumptions (none without merit) have led towards Edge being touted for the event, with Santino Marella and eventual Brock-toppler Cain Velasquez also amongst the suspected surprises remaining from the five spots not already taken up by the main roster rank-and-file.

It's a good year for potential, fan-made excitement - but can WWE quench that thirst?
