10 HUGE WWE Royal Rumble 2021 Predictions You Need To Know

5. John Cena Will Do Something

These are interesting times for WWE, and not just because the calendar has landed on their busiest period of the year and the possibility of welcoming crowds back into building is nervously looming on the horizon.

The news that the company were to flog the WWE Network to NBCU for broadcast on their Peacock streaming service was big on the day, and may one day prove itself one of those once-in-a-generation bombshells. The ink's dry on the deal, but it behooves both parties to make good on it for shareholders in the early stages, particularly when all the maths don't quite tie together in favour of the Network's new owners making much of a profit.

John Cena has as good as left wrestling behind for film and television, but he's gone beyond merely making himself available for WrestleMania in the last few years - he's given everything he can to the gig. Last year he sacrificed his character for the good of The Fiend, the year before saw him send his old self up in a war of words with Elias, and his desperation to get a title match in 2018 was suspenseful in the extreme with the fate of AJ Styles Vs Shinsuke Nakamura on the line.

It could be a Rumble entry, a promise to return on Raw, or an interruption elsewhere on the card, but it feels time to involve 'The Champ' again for a while - what better place than the January classic?
