10 Huge WWE Stars In Danger Of Missing WrestleMania 35

1. The Intercontinental Title

Aleister Black, Ricochet, Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano. Four men that Vince McMahon turned to because, in his eyes, there wasn’t a single mid-carder in the entire company who he felt really deserved a showcase WrestleMania match.

Jinder Mahal, Drew McIntyre, Elias, Baron Corbin, EC3, Andrade, Samoa Joe, Bobby Lashley, Shinsuke Nakamura, Rusev, Dolph Zigger, s**t, even Braun Strowman, not one of these men he felt had the requisite “star power” to really shine on the company’s biggest stage.

Ciampa’s injury complicates matters but you can still expect the other 3 to be the focal point of television after Fastlane. All three men being faces with the support of the bosses and the fans behind them, this leaves Finn Balor, the reigning Intercontinental Champion, in a bit of a situation.

Either they turn him heel and start a feud with one of the new lads, or they’ve got to somehow cobble together something with an opponent we’ve seen countless times. Balor vs Lashley, Balor vs Elias, Balor vs Drew, Balor vs Jinder, nobody else on Raw really screams “WrestleMania IC Title Challenger”.

There are, of course, many other things Balor can actually do at WrestleMania - people are still touting The Undertaker, for example - but none of them concern his title. He’ll definitely be there, Vince does see the aforementioned “star power” in him, but whether he brings the gold is another matter entirely.
