10 Hysterical Times Wrestlers FORCED Each Other To Break Character

8. Mick Foley Gets The Rock At Last

The Rock is such a strange psychological specimen.

It is alleged that he refuses to look too weak in his Hollywood fight scenes, which is only slightly less pathetic than that time Triple H booted off when his digital avatar was made to look vulnerable in a screenshot of a video game in Fighting Spirit magazine. A racially abused Booker T can lose at WrestleMania, but a pixelated depiction of Triple H?

But he’s the King of Kings! That’s the best king!

Rock can’t stand it when things don’t go his way. Don’t put in the newspaper that Rock was mad about Black Adam bombing. It didn’t bomb and he was very happy about the box office performance, actually. The Rock isn’t vulnerable and he doesn’t make mistakes. He drinks tequila and he’s hard and it’s massive, if you wanted to know (you didn’t, but he often insists on telling you).

The irony of it all is that Rock was at his most popular when he was the coolest guy in the world who might - for a split second - consider hanging around with someone like you, a character trait best drawn out of him by audience surrogate Mick Foley.

Foley once got Rock with his old trick, when in 2000 he asked Rock how being WWF Champion made him feel. “It doesn’t matter how it makes you feel,” Foley said in the scripted line, but his joy - expressed by running around the ring screaming his own name - is what caused the Rock to actually crack.
