10 Hysterical Times Wrestlers FORCED Each Other To Break Character
7. Sammy Guevara Breaks The Ultimate Pro
Before he turned babyface, and finally revealed aspects of his real life in a bid to endear himself to the AEW audience, MJF was the pro’s pro. He operated in character 24/7. He presented the idea that his real-life personality and his fictional character were one and the same. Even when in dubious, risky situations - like the time in which he felt he couldn’t not behave atrociously in front of a wheelchair user fan - MJF never softened his resolve. He hated everybody, faces and heels alike, and never shared anybody else’s joy. He only laughed at his own sociopathic behaviour.
MJF was more committed to being a piece of crap than the most stubborn, fibre-deficient skidmark on a toilet bowl.
That was until March 18, 2020: the site of AEW’s first closed-set Dynamite taping at Daily’s Place.
It was a surreal night, which must have coaxed him out of the facade. Faced with an impossible situation - providing entertainment value during a time in which locked-down people weren’t aware when or even if things would ever return to normal - Sammy Guevara smashed the remit. Deputising for the fans unable to attend and sing Chris Jericho’s theme, Sammy, as the idiot heel, intentionally butchered ‘Judas’.
A smile crept across Jericho’s face, but MJF, stood next to Guevara, absolutely lost it and decided to just join in.
