“But the worst enemy you can meet will always be yourself” – Friedrich Nietzsche (who would consider this a title defence).

Gerald Brisco brought comedy from the arena bathroom, creeping around and on-guard, his only motivation to keep the Hardcore Championship around his waist. Jerry Lawler became so involved with Brisco’s amateur covert operation he shushed his broadcast partner, Jim Ross, just to be safe.

Brisco’s senior-citizen stealth was interrupted when he caught sight of his reflection out of the corner of his eye. Brisco threw himself across the bathroom into a trashcan, proving even at 53 he could do his own low-impact stunts.

Brisco’s battle-avoidance wound came when he punched his own reflection and limped away holding his hand. Lawler added insult to injury when he pointed out that Brisco also split his pants. The audience at home hit the rewind button to confirm this to be true.

Result: Gerald Brisco survived Judgment Day to defend the Hardcore Championship down the line. However, his diminishing dignity took a serious hit.
