10 Ideas WWE Blatantly STOLE From WCW

5. The Latino World Order

WWE LWO WCW

You knew this was showing up at some point.

It's the most recent WCW reprise/knock off here, and it flies in the face of how the Latino World Order was initially presented to the world. Rey Mysterio, who appears as the leader of this current incarnation alongside members of Legado del Fantasma, didn't want to be LWO back in 1998.

Rey Rey was booked to shun Eddie Guerrero's offer of a spot in the group at first. Then, typically, WCW's writers burned through some more story before losing interest in a Latino spin off for the much-more-successful mainline nWo group(s). That was that, until 2023.

The LWO idea must be a curious one to those who didn't live through the original in WCW. Approx 25 years on, someone who wasn't even a key member has reprised the faction on WWE television without a New World Order to speak of. It's a little weird, but at least it's giving Santos Escobar some well-deserved TV time.
